BIO
Born and raised in Kihei, Maui, Kala’e Camarillo comes from a multi-generational family of musicians and music educators. In 2009 as a high school senior, he and his cousin won the state wide talent search competition, “Band Champ,” which awarded the duo the opening act for two major groups; The Stylistics and America.
Today, after three solo albums, he has received three Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards (Hawaiian Grammys) and has been nominated as one of Hawaii’s top male vocalists in 2020 and 2022. He can be found performing regularly throughout the islands and often alongside one of Hawaii’s most iconic female voices, Robi Kahakalau. Kala’e is following in his family’s footsteps as both an award winning musician and music educator at Kapālama Elementary.
