BIO

Dino Villanueva grew up in a music family and has been involved in music all his life. After bouncing around early on from guitar to drums, he finally settled in on the bass, an instrument that he has been playing professionally since 2002.

In 2012, he began his touring career in Nashville as a part of former American Idol contestant’s Casey James band. He not only played bass, he also sang backup vocals, and was the band leader. During this tour, he made appearances on the Ellen Degeneres show, The Today Show, and American Idol. The band was also the opening act for Taylor Swift’s “RED” Tour in 2013.

Since 2016, Dino has been the bass player and background vocalist for country legend Tanya Tucker. To date, the band has made appearances on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the CMA Awards show, and the Ellen Degeneres Show. Tanya is currently on tour having won two Grammy Awards in 2019. Notable stops on tour include Red rocks, and several European dates.

In addition to touring, Dino also is actively involved in the Nashville recording community.

In 2019, he recorded his debut EP “HI, Christmas” (Hawaiian style christmas music) with a collaboration of great musicians from the Nashville area. Currently he is working on another Christmas album and a few singles in the same Hawaiian style.
